This document describes the steps to download the PL, GL and FA statements from your Xero account. The general format for the statements from Xero is also listed here. Files in this format will be read in by the AI.TaxAssist tool when you choose Software Type as XERO.

Steps to Download PL from XERO

1. Login to your Xero account.
   
2. Choose the company for which you would like to download the PL for.
   
3. Click on Accounting and choose Reports from the dropdown list.                                                                                                                      
   
     
   
4. This opens a screen with a list of all the reports that are available to you. You can scroll through the list or use the search bar on the top to look for a report. Click on Profit and Loss report to open it.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             
   
5.  You can set the Date Range for which you need the report for and click on Update button.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               
   
6.  To download the Profit and Loss report, click on the Export button at the bottom right of the screen and choose Excel. The Profit and Loss report will now be downloaded to a destination folder of your choice.                                                                                                                                                                                         
   

Steps to Download GL from XERO

1. Login to your Xero account.
   
2. Choose the company for which you would like to download the GLfor.
   
3. Click on Accounting and choose Reports from the dropdown list. In the Reports page scroll down to Accounting to choose the Account Transactions report.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 
   
4. This opens the Account Transactions window. Under Accounts, select all the Income/Expense accounts that are present in the PL. Then choose a Date Range. Click on Update button.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        
   
5. To download the Account Transaction report, click on the Export button at the bottom right of the screen and choose Excel. The Account Transactions report will now be downloaded to a destination folder of your choice.
